This was one heck of a great party! Thanks to the hard work and gracious hosting of August and Cheyenne Vanderdonckt and their totally cool kid known to the hood as Charlie there was pizza and fun for sixty plus of us!
With a little help from Charlie, August prepared more than enough dough for everyone. Trays and trays of pizza dough formed and ready to be rolled greeted the guests when they arrived with the toppings. Several kinds of cheese, sausage, caramelized onions, ham, pepperoni, six different kinds of sauces and tons of both traditional and non traditional pizza makings.
August gave a quick demonstration of proper pizza making techniques and made a sample pizza. With a final warning of "no holes, and remember the semolina flour" the neighbors and friends were off on their own. Lots of creativity and sharing made sure everyone had a variety of pizza. Someone even made really yummy desert pizza.
The good news about this is that August has already suggested that this should be an annual porch party event!
