Brunch at Bungalow Bistro Sunday---A very social and yummy experience.
Sunday morning, up out of bed...finally had a weekend morning to visit the Bistro. They have been open a few weeks but my work schedule has been overwhelming and weekends not my own. But a brunch after a night of Halloween parties with a bit of wine and a lot of karoke, was just what I wanted!!
Got the daughter person up and drove the few blocks to the Bistro (If they had not put that darn interstate right though the middle of the hood, I would have walked or ridden a bike!) When we got there we found the Harmon's and friends sitting right inside the door, obviously early risers, as they were already finished eating and were just enjoying the luxuary of chatting over coffee.

We found a table and sat down and immediately our waitress came over and greated us. She was friendly and attentive from the moment we sat down, until we left. The service was an absolute pleasure!! I am embarassed to say that true to form, I have forgotten her name. However, she is pictured below!

The menu was inviting and although I have broken the habit of eating this type of thing for breakfast, or any other meal for that matter...we were there to taste the food so we did! I ordered the Eggs Benedict and my daughter ordered the old neighborhood standard, sausage and gravy over biscuits. Both came with seasoned roasted potatoes and chilled fresh fruit....and both were absolutely excellent! The seasonings were subtle and a just a little bit different. So good I over ate, which I haven't done in months!
While we were eating Randy Baron, past OSHNA president and present Variance Board Member, joined a table of friends on the other side of the door. So far between almost everyone in the Bistro had also been guests at the Halloween party(s) the night before. It is a small hood, isn't it?

During our brunch, owner-operator Elizabeth Graham came bearing her high calorie, scrumptious looking signature dessert - KEY LIME PIE! It was free for the tasting. Oh my what strength it took to say no. And what cunning to turn on my friends and neighbors the McColleys and force (yeah sure) them to try it so I could watch and drool!

Our whole brunch experience was tasty, extremely well priced and served by a staff of really friendly people. You feel welcome the moment you step through the door and the experience remains top notch until you pass back out!
What a treat to have this in the hood! Thanks Elizabeth, it was worth the wait!
