The Goonies are a group of seven young friends from a small Northwest town who find themselves on a thrilling underground adventure filled with humor and heart-pounding peril as they seek the secrets behind the treasure of the notorious pirate, One-Eyed Willie.  Rated PG.  Stars Sean Astin and Josh Brolin.  Directed by Richard Donner.

Bank of America presents Sunset Cinema, Tampa Theatre’s traveling outdoor picture show, a free family-friendly film series showing classics and current popular films.  The films will be projected onto a giant inflatable screen in parks around

Guests are invited to bring blankets, pillows, backrests, low-profile beach chairs and picnic baskets.  Tampa Theatre will be selling traditional cinema snacks including popcorn, soft drinks, bottled water, candy and Tampa Theatre merchandise (Frisbees and picnic blankets).  Sales and concessions proceeds support Tampa Theatre’s artistic and educational programming.  Alcoholic beverages, plastic tarps, and tables will not be permitted.

”Since 1926, people have been traveling downtown to watch movies under Tampa Theatre’s simulated stars,” said John Bell, Tampa Theatre President & C.E.O. “We are grateful to Bank of America for helping us bring free movies to Tampa neighborhoods so people can gather to watch movies under the real stars.”

, FL – Bank of America presents Sunset Cinema, Tampa Theatre’s traveling outdoor picture show, a free family-friendly film series showing classics and current popular films. The films will be projected onto a giant inflatable screen in parks around Tampa Bay. The first two events are "The Princess Bride" on Saturday, April 26 at 8pm at River Tower Park in Sulphur Springs and "The Wizard of Oz" at 8:15pm at Cotanchobee Park on the river in Downtown Tampa. Gates open at 6pm. Two more movies and locations for October and November will be announced.

Tampa

Come early for pre-show entertainment featuring animated and live action short films from Tampa Theatre’s Let’s Make Movies Digital Filmmaking Summer Camp for young filmmakers and The Tampa Film Review, a monthly showcase for independent, locally produced short films.

Tampa Theatre

A Darn Fun Evening!!

KUDOS TO OSHNA AND CIGAR CITY PICTURES FOR 

SEMINOLE HEIGHTS, THE INTIMATE YEARS.

I had the extreme pleasure of attending the SH Documentary tonight.  I have only one thing to say WOW!  What a wonderful thing for SH.  The mood was set by the always beautiful and historically rich Tampa Theatre.  The production was above all very professional.  All the interviews and stories were fascinating,  heartwarming and rife with humor.  It made a possibly dull subject entertaining  even  for those who are not  familiar with SH.

I want to thank OSHNA Preservation Committee and particularly Suzanne for having the idea and the drive to get it done. It was the pleasure of SESHCA to be a very minor sponsor.  We are very lucky in the hood to live where this kind of production can happen.  I love this place, it is always full of surprises!
