in the 'hood has probably dealt with homeless, stray or feral cats and dogs. I
definitely have -- I now own two more cats than I did when I first moved here
-- one feral, one that was abandoned. The only way to combat it is to get

where you can help. This weekend is the annual Stride for Strays,
benefiting Animal Coalition of Tampa (ACT), which offers low-cost spay/neuter
for anyone, $10 spay/neuter for low-income households, and has monthly free
Spay Days for strays. ACT has been in existence four years, and already fixed
nearly 20,000 cats and dogs.
All
this is a long way of saying that some friends and I are taking part in Stride
for Strays, ACT's annual fund-raising walk, on Oct. 31. I could have just
written a check to ACT as a donation, but thought if we take part in the walk,
some of you might want to help as well. Even a couple of dollars would
